Why does my car vibrate at high idle?

The vibration you feel is the engine straining against the torque converter. Possible causes for high idle include a bad IAC and a bad temp sensor. The Idle Air Controller controls idle speed, and the temp sensor if it’s bad could be telling the ECU that the engine is colder than it is, upping the idle.

When does the Shake disappear in a car?

It only happens when brake pedal is pressed AND in D gear. If shift from D to N, the shake disappears. As soon as the traffic light turns green and the car starts to accelerate, the shake disappears. Four spark plugs were replaced, no effect at all. Thanks for your help. kizwiki July 6, 2016, 12:54am #2 You have a failed motor mount.

When does your car vibrate during an oil change?

I forgot when the vibration happens but MAYBE the last 10k or 20k. It do not vibrate when I put it in neutral but I THINK I can hear it in the engine. Vibrate physically. I do all my oil change to synthetic before the oil change reminder reach 10%. Filters are good.

Why does my car shake when stopped at a stoplight?

Motor mounts keep the engine attached to the car. If the vehicle shakes or the engine shudders a lot when stopped at a stoplight, or when parked with the engine idling, it might indicate the motor mounts or transmission mounts are damaged or broken. To see if this is really the problem, shift the car into neutral.
