How do you beat archimonde in Hellfire Citadel?
The general strategy for the encounter should be:
- Tank Archimonde near an edge of the encounter area and move him slowly around the room as Doomfire fills the nearby area.
- Kite Doomfire toward the center of the room, and have melee DPS stand on the outside of the boss, so Doomfire doesn’t pass through the melee.
What killed archimonde?
As the Alliance and Horde forces, along with their allies, laid siege to Hellfire Citadel, Archimonde was summoned by the Warlock Gul’dan. He was defeated by Khadgar, Yrel, Grommash, and a group of adventurers. As he collapsed, with his dying breath he yelled to Gul’dan that “he made a pact”.
What question did sargeras promise to answer for archimonde if he joined the Burning Legion?
He eagerly joined the fallen titan Sargeras who promised them knowledge, power and, most importantly, the answer to the question “what is the one underlying flaw of the universe?”, in exchange for loyalty.

I had always thought that they were around the same level of power from the lore, but then we defeated Archimonde years ago. Kil’jaeden was defeated as well, but not fully as he wasn’t at full power when he came through the portal in Sunwell.
