Why is my master cylinder not working on my Nissan Pathfinder?
At first the brake pedal was fading to the floor at a stop. Replaced the master cylinder. Condition better but pedal still spongy and then, additionally, when driving, at random times the brake pedal goes down 3/4 of the way before any brake pedal pressure is felt and the vehicle is able to stop.

Checked Nissan and there were no recalls on the master cylinder. The contact owns a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the brake lines from the master cylinder to the rear of the vehicle were leaking.

They even contacted Nissan for their opinion, which they too suggested replacing the master cylinder. After two brand new master cylinders, the problem has not been fixed and will be an ongoing issue for my vehicle.
