Why is my 2005 S40 not turning on?
Might be a bad ignition switch or timing. Life is short and you are dead a long time. Could be that the starter got hung up in it also,, but more than likely it might be a bad kill switch. That would keep it form turning off and if it’s bad it would keep it from turning on also. I hope that is all it is. Good Luck with it!!!! No Signature needed.

I was absolutely loving it, but then just yesterday, encountered a strange problem . . . the bike was making a strange noise, so I went to turn it off, but it wouldn’t shut off! then, even with the ignition key out, the bike was still trying to go . . . whenever I released the clutch, it would jump.

The key is a balance between a bike that is light and forgiving enough to let you make mistakes while learning, but a bike that you will not outgrow within a month or two. This shouldn’t be happening on a new bike. Make sure your dealer checks it over thoroughly. Might be a bad ignition switch or timing.
