Who owns PCYC?

A self-described “country boy from western NSW”, Michael Hope grew up in Cowra & Young learning about business from his parents. By age 29 he owned six pharmacies before being struck down with reactive arthritis which promoted a “vine change”, where Michael and wife Karen moved to the Hunter Valley.

What is PCYC?

The Mission of PCYC is to get young people active in life; develop their skills, character and leadership; and prevent and reduce crime by and against young people.

How old is PCYC?

PCYC was established in 1937 by Police Commissioner William John MacKay. It was a partnership forged with the community via Rotary to provide young people with a safe and positive alternative to the streets.

How is PCYC funded?

As a charity grant, sponsorship and donor support is critical to fund our mission-based programs. I warmly thank and thoroughly appreciate the generosity of our support PCYC receives from all levels of government, business partners, community sponsors, donors and volunteers.

Can anyone go to Pcyc?

Our members enjoy morning yoga, sailing the Pacific Ocean on the club sailboat Selavy, navigating Channel Islands Harbor in the club owned 22ft electric boat, paddle boarding, riding the aqua bikes, and kayaking. PCYC takes pride in being one of the friendliest yacht clubs in Southern California.
