It was used for swimming, diving, and synchronized swimming events. However, now it is a vibrant and an accessible facility open to the whole community. It hosts a variety of activities including fitness and family swim sessions, swimming and diving lessons, as well as inclusive community sessions.

What is the London Aquatics Centre made of?
The unique six-board diving platform is made from 462 tonnes of concrete. The aluminium roof covering was provided by Kalzip. The steel structure was built in cooperation with Rowecord Engineering, of Newport, Wales. The ceiling was built with 30,000 sections of Red Louro timber.
