The Vitara does not have an automatic belt tensioner built into the tensioner pulley. You must manually adjust the pulley, but before you can do that you must loosen it. Locate the Grand Vitara’s tensioner pulley on the front of the engine block between the power steering pump and the crankshaft pulley.
