Where is the parking light switch on a Subaru Outback?
If the parking light switch (on top of the steering column) turns on all the exterior clearance and tail lights, then most of the wiring is apparently okay. The Parking Light switch, and the regular light switch, generally use the same wires to send power to the bulbs. Model/year would indeed be helpful. My apologies. It is a 2002 Outback. Thanks.
When is the key on and the parking light switch is off?
When the key is at ON, and the parking light switch is OFF, and the headlight switch is turned on, the clearance and tail lights, AND, the lighting for the switches and controls on the dashboard, should all be on. You’ve reported that the tail lights are not on, but what about the others, and especially the lighting inside the cabin?
How do you change the light bulb on an Audi?
If you have an Audi, BMW or VW vehicle with CANBUS, then place your original OEM bulb back in the housing, turn on your vehicle for five minutes to insure that your lights work. Then shut off your car, remove the key and replace the bulb with the LED.
Where do the tail lights go on a Subaru?
“P” of the Switch goes to FB-3, which connects to the tail, clearance and license plate lights circuit. When the Switch is in the ON position, the exterior lights work, so that confirms all the wiring from “P” onwards through FB-3.
How do you replace a turn signal light bulb?
The turn signal mini light bulb isn’t a difficult repair. Simply pop the old bulb out of the compartment and replace it with a new one. Before you replace the bulb, check the bulb socket to make sure there is no damage or corrosion.

Where are the parking lights on a Subaru?
Do the parking lights, i.e., the tail lights (all four!), the license plate lights, and the front clearance lights (together the “clearance and tail lights”) light when the key is at Off, or out of the ignition switch, and the parking light switch on top of the steering column is turned on?
Where are the tail lights on a Subaru Outback?
(Altogether there’s four combination tail/brake light bulbs across the back, two in the far corners, and two in the hatch, under the red plastic with the “Subaru” marking.) Click to expand… yes this is when using the oarking light switch on top of the steering column.
Why are the tail lights not working on a Subaru Outback?
But when the Parking Switch is in the Off position, the external clearance and tail lights don’t work. In the following section of the wiring diagram, when the Parking Switch (upper left) is in the OFF position, power comes from FB-2, fuse 7, to “B” on the switch, but goes no further.
Why is my left rear license plate light not working?
I have a 2001 Chevy 2500hd truck, problem left rear license plate light was working then it quit. Changed our bulb still did not come on but one on right does work. Took bulb from left and put it on right and bulb works but bulb will not work on left side.
Why are the dash lights not working on my Subaru?
Furthermore, as was noted, the dash lights do work when the headlight switch is turned on. The dash lights are supplied by the relay. In the diagram, only some lights are shown, powered from FB-26, fuse 12. So if the dash lights work, the relay is working. That leaves the Parking Switch, or wiring specific to it, as a probably cause.

Where are the parking lights on a Subaru Outback?
The fact that the car has the separate parking light switch on the steering column means it’s pre-2010. The parking light switch on top of the steering column has it’s own power source (always on), but when that switch is used, it only turns on the external clearance and tail lights (including the license plate illumination lights).
Why are the brake lights on my car not working?
Changed our bulb still did not come on but one on right does work. Took bulb from left and put it on right and bulb works but bulb will not work on left side. Also verify the fuse for the brake lights. I was driving around without the brake lights, only with the upper one.
Why are my tail lights and marker lights not working?
My tail lights, marker lights, and license plate lights are not working. Brake lights, signals, headlights, hazards all work fine. I’ve replaced both the fuses and that hasn’t fixed the problem. Diagram shows a Tail and Illumination relay and I thought it might be that but the illumination on the dash works fine.
