Where does the oil come from in a blow by?
Blow-by is a combination of unburned fuel, exhaust gases, and oil that escapes from around the piston rings during the combustion process and enters the crankcase. This oily vapor is vented out of the crank case via a PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve to be re-circulated back into the intake manifold.
What causes oil leak on left side of engine?
Any thoughts anyone can offer are much appreciated. When the PCV check valve goes out, it tends to result in leaks in many areas on the engine. Check for that first: If everything looks good there, your CPASV seals may be leaking.
Where does oil come from on left side of car?
I had noticed a spot where it looked like oil was coming from under the front left side of the cover, which is why I was hopeful that I had fixed the problem with replacing the gasket.
Is it bad to have oil on opposite side of car?
Having one on the opposite side is not a bad thing. However, there isn’t much need for the little amount of blowby it has. It wasn’t a real concern unless your Mustang has a supercharger.
Where does the fuel go in a blow by engine?
As piston rings and cylinder walls wear, more and more fuel and oil is able to pass into the crankcase and eventually into the intake system. Oil and fuel found in blow-by can eventually make its way into your intake system.

Where are the baffles on a pickup truck?
Baffles are widely used in various parts of engines. A baffle in the oil pan keeps oil around the pickup, and there are usually baffles under the valve covers on overhead valve engines to keep oil on the camshafts. If it’s important and it needs oil, there’s probably a baffle around it, and your catch can should have a baffle too.
