When does a bike die after warming up?
Bike will start fine, then after warming up (usually 3-5 minutes or so), it starts to drop in idle speed, and will eventually die. Once it dies, it will not restart right away unless I open the throttle quite a bit. Best results are had by just waiting a few minutes, and then trying it again.
What to do if your bike dies at a red light?
I wobble the bike to the median/sidewalk since it doesn’t restart back up like the other times. turn the key a couple times and then the thing lights up again, and starts back up. About 1/4 mile from that spot, filtering down to another red light in traffic and dies completely again. Wobble off to the side.
Why did my bike die while running errands?
Finishing running an errand and while accelerating up to ~35 it dies for about 2 secs and regains power. After taking a left and upon decelerating at a light dies out completely again. Luckily I was able to make it home in time.. I’ve had the bikes electrics die out in the past due to a short in the rear light but that’s since been fixed..
What should I put in my bike to warm up?
Drain the old gas, as much as possible, including the float bowls. Put in fresh, half a tank with 2 OZ per gallon of Gumout or B12 (note I did NOT say Seafoam). Use liberal choke and NO throttle to get it started; leave the choke partly ON while it warms up. If/when it starts running better, after a couple of days maybe]

What to do if your bike shuts off while riding?
Took a little more for it to start that time but normally starts right up. Runs and starts awesome the rest of time. I have thrown a crank sensor at it to try and fix problem.
Why does my bike die when I give it throttle?
Check for an air leak allowing too much oxygen into the combustion chamber. Check the condition of the spark plugs to see if the fuel mixture is too rich or too lean. Nope, not yet. Still working on it. It’s doing BETTER, but it’s still doing it sometimes. I’m thinking mixture. If you go half choke on yours does it rev up better?
Why does my bike stop after 20 minutes?
My bike will run for about 20 minutes or so, then start losing power and missing and sputtering. Then it stops. I wait 2 minutes, and it runs again for another 20 or so minutes. It’s not the fuel valve (tried normal and Reserve), and it’s not the plugs or wires (runs fine when running).
What happens when you run a car for 20 minutes?
When you run it for 20 minutes you use up all the fuel. Then when it sits for two minutes the bowls fill up again. On each carb float bowl (on the right side) there is a little allen screw. When it dies, try loosening the one on the right carb. Place a bowl under the carb to catch the fuel.
Why does my trike die after 5 minutes?
You could be losing spark when your trike gets hot so maybe it needs a coil?Have you cleaned your petcock? My 200 did the exact same thing and it was the petcock and gas tank needed a good cleaining. Yeah. The fuel system is clean. Im sure of that.

What to do when your bike Idles down and dies?
First thing to test is remove the hose from the carb (with the petcock OFF), stick the end in an empty can and then turn the petcock ON. Unless you have a vacuum shutoff, you should see a decent flow from the open hose end. If not, you need to find out why.
Why does my car run for 20 minutes and then stops?
It sounds like a fuel starvation problem caused by a partial vacuum in the fuel tank. This could be caused by a blocked/kinked vent hose somewhere. I would check it out by putting the spare key in the fuel cap and go for a ride.
Why does my bike not start when the engine is warm?
Give support, share information, and connect with fellow members. IMHO it’s going lean, either because the heat of the engine is cooking the fuel out of the bowls, or because of vapor-lock. To check the first idea, turn the petcock to “prime” and try starting. If that doesn’t make a difference, take a look at the fuel lines.
Why does my motorcycle engine stall when warm?
And the problem is often worse on a hot day. The dreaded stalling issue when the engine is warm is the most common idle problem and it is mostly related to the very lean air/fuel ratio on the modern fuel injected motorcycle engine. Why does my motorcycle stall at idle when the engine is warmed up and at operating temperature ? – Low compression.

What happens if you warm up your motorcycle before riding?
Subjecting a cold piston to extreme heat and friction without first allowing it to warm up can cause rapid piston expansion and scuffing. The engine doesn’t achieve optimal clearance between parts until it reaches normal operating temperature. If you lay into the throttle before then, however, the engine temperature can spike.
What causes metal to expand on a motorcycle?
Metal expands when it’s heated, and anyone who’s sat astride a motorcycle knows they make serious heat. Subjecting a cold piston to extreme heat and friction without first allowing it to warm up can cause rapid piston expansion and scuffing.
