What is the storyline of Inception?
Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a thief with the rare ability to enter people’s dreams and steal their secrets from their subconscious. His skill has made him a hot commodity in the world of corporate espionage but has also cost him everything he loves. Cobb gets a chance at redemption when he is offered a seemingly impossible task: Plant an idea in someone’s mind. If he succeeds, it will be the perfect crime, but a dangerous enemy anticipates Cobb’s every move.

What is the true ending of Inception?
Cobb’s totem was a spinning top which, when spun, would eventually come to rest in the real world but keep spinning endlessly in the dream world. At the end of the film, when the heist proved to be a success and Cobb is finally reunited with his kids, he spins the top one last time.
Did Cobb actually wake up?
To be clear, DiCaprio’s Cobb is awake at the end of the movie and reunited with his real children, not false projections that could never realize these young souls in all their perfections and all their imperfections.
Why did mal think she was dreaming?
Faced with limitless possibilities on how to build their own world and becoming obsessed by the power of Limbo, Mal gradually began to believe that Limbo was her reality. In order to convince her to return to the real world, Dom planted the idea in her mind that her reality was, in fact, a dream.
