Should I update PhysX?
PhysX System Software – If you are into gaming, you may need to install this for some games to run. If you never play games, you do not need this. It checks online to find new drivers, can optimize games so that they run better on your PC, and video broadcasting options.
What does PhysX system software do?
PhysX is a software library (mostly used in games) that allows you to simulate the physics of (mostly) rigid objects that are colliding with, supporting or intersecting each other. It was originally designed for a specific hardware device – but these days mostly runs on either the CPU or a GPU.
How do I know what version of PhysX I have?
This is a little trick to know if a PhysX application is running with software PhysX or GPU PhysX. With NVIDIA’s display drivers R195. xx like the latest R195. 62 WHQL, just open the NVIDIA Control Panel and you’ll find in the 3D Settings menu bar item, the PhysX Visual Indicator ON/OFF.
How do I enable PhysX?
To enable PhysX right click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel (NCP). Open the 3D Settings menu tree on the top left of the NCP. Select Set PhysX configuration. Enable PhysX and select the specific GPU you would like to use if you have multiple cards.
