What plants can I use Rose-tone on?

What is the difference between Rose-tone and Holly-Tone?
Holly-tone has a different blend than Rose-tone, with a higher percentage of cottonseed meal, which is a bit more acidic. Usually not enough to be concerned about unless your soil is extremely acidic.
Can I use Rose-tone on my hydrangeas?
“Can I use this on all my flowers or just on the roses?” You can use Rose-tone or other rose fertilizers for your other perennials and flowering shrubs. “What’s the best one for my shrubs?” In general, you could use Holly-tone for all of the shrubs that keep their leaves all winter, as well as the hydrangeas.

Can you use Rose food on other plants?
For example, you can successfully use the same fertilizer for English roses, hybrids and miniature roses. On the other hand, perennials and annuals will experience growth with this fertilizer as well, making it easier to care for several distinct plant species.
Can you use Holly-tone on crape myrtles?
Yes, Holly-Tone is good for Crepe Myrtles if you live in an area with alkaline soil pH > 7.0.
What happens if you use too much Holly Tone?
A: It would take a ridiculous amount to kill any plant with a granular, organic fertilizer like Holly-tone. An excess would have more of a gradual detrimental effect, such as affecting the tree’s color or making them more attractive to bugs.
Why didnt my hydrangea bloom this year?
The primary reasons hydrangeas don’t bloom are incorrect pruning, bud damage due to winter and/or early spring weather, location and too much fertilizer. Hydrangea varieties can be of the type that blooms on old wood, new wood or both. Old wood is the current year’s growth and new wood is next year’s (spring) growth.
