What is DSC on Jaguar XF?

What is DSC on Jaguar XF?

The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system does not compensate for driver error or misjudgement. The DSC system helps to maintain the vehicle’s stability in critical driving situations, e.g., during unstable driving behaviour such as understeer and oversteer.

Why is my DSC not available on my car?

Could be a number of things e.g. wheel sensor, but if the message disappears then the detected fault has been cleared which points to an intermittent fault rather than something broken. Electrical connectors and wet conditions are good for this sort of issue. Fault codes should be logged even if the fault goes away.

What does DSC not available-restricted performance mean?

Lastnight I started the car and drove about 500m down the road before a message appeared saying “DSC Not available (or words to that effect) – Restricted Performance”. I carried on, but there was no power available, capped between 30-40mph.

Is the DSC system code susceptible to drop in voltage?

Apparently the DSC system code is very susceptible to a drop in voltage. No charge was made for this work. I had only visited the dealer previously for a minor rectification job about 2 years previously.

When does a DSc warning become a permanent error?

Permanent – It needs manual clearing. Short term – It will clear in x number of cycles (where the cycles would be ign on/off). One off – It will clear on the next cycle. The reason for the short term is that the ECU will “upgrade” the warning to a permanent error if it re-occurs.

What to do if Jaguar DSC is not available?

Jaguar should just change all the warning messages to say “… or battery needs changed” after them.
