What is an Ipdm module?
iPDM is an intelligent electronic power distributor with a cut-off function that ensures and manages the power supply for a scalable number of connected loads in the vehicle. It can also protect connect- ed lines against thermal overload.
Why do I need to use the ipdm on my Nissan?
The only reason i ask is because if you heard the compressor click on and off during the auto active test, the only way power gets to the compressor is via the IPDM. Oh well, pull out the IPDM and see if there are any relays that control the A/C and maybe you can replace just that relay.
How can I tell if my ipdm relays are working?
The defroster ,headlights,cooling fans,wipers,and compressor clutch will cycle, so make sure that your hood is open so you can here the clicks of the compressor clutch. This is called the auto active test and this tests the main relays in the IPDM. If the compressor clutch clicks then its NOT the IPDM.
Why is my ipdm compressor not receiving power?
Turns out the compressor isn’t receiving any power at all. A regular mechanic said he couldn’t figure it out, he thought it was an electrical issue. The mechanic at the dealership says it is a problem with the IPDM, and it needs to be replaced. They need to order it directly from Nissan, etc.

You’re IPDM might be in the early stage of failing. Like I stated above, some peoples have no luck with the relay swap. Yes there have been reports of IPDM failure in the 07, not as much as the earlier models but has happened. I had starting problems similar to the IPDM issue.
How to remove the ipdm from a Nissan?
1-Return your truck back to stock tune if you have a tune. Remove both battery cables. This is where the IPDM is located. Big black box nearest the firewall. Push in mounting tabs on the IPDM this will allow it to slide up in its mounting track and allow for eventual removal. You can see the tabs at the top left and right in this picture.
