What hydraulic oil goes in a bobcat?
A good quality brand of AW hyd oil will work fine. The debate is usually which grade. I’ve used AW32 in Bobcats for years, others would recommend the higher viscosity grade AW46, probably works just as well. IMHO, AW32 works just fine because Bobcat’s have a fairly good oil cooler to control high oil temps.

1701 kubota diesel. I’ve found out on the skid steer forum that it’s 9qts. w/ filter oil. green coolant (our new one takes orange, 13 qts ), 13 gal fuel, 6 gal hyd, and 32 qts drive (20-50). Hi i just bought a 89 bobcat 743, i am trying to find the fluid level for the hydro. i noticed a sight glass on the fluid tank. i am wondering if i should see fluid when cold or hot? right now i dont see anything in the sight glass machine is cold. what kind of 10w30 should i use? castrol? thanks

After all, there’s nothing unusual about the Bobcat hydraulic system, they use the same type of hyd components that are used thoughout the hyd world. IMHO, a good quality AW hyd oil will work fine. I prefer AW oil as opposed to RO hyd oil. RO oil has additives to inhibit formation of Rust and Oxidation.

Does the 743 come with an oil cooled Duetz engine? If so, are you talking about the cooling oil or the hydraulic oil (as mentioned in your post). If it’s cooling oil I don’t think I can be of much help (as if I am anyway).
