Is there a fuse for the tail lights?
Thanks for your help— Rachel it sure sounds like a fuse the fuse for tail lights also controls the dash lights only other thing I can think of is maybe a faulty headlight switch but once again it sure sounds like a fuse 10 people found this helpful.

How can I tell if my tail lights have a fuse?
When you have located the fuse for the tail lights use a fuse tester to check the connection. If the tester lights up – your fuse is functioning fine. If it does not light up then, replace the fuse with another of the similar amperage and size. In many instances, you can see the break in the metal strip of the fuse.

Where are the tail lights on my Amigo?
I have a 92 Amigo with no dash or tail lights as well..all pertaining fuses and relays are fine. All bulbs are new, I’ve found 2 ground wires on the entire loom, 1 in the cab under the carpet and the other on the backside of the back bumper. Those have both been cleaned good for a good ground.

What should I do if my tail light has blown out?
Use your fingers or a tweezer to take out the fuse. Most new cars have a fuse extractor in the fuse box or in the tool kit. It is a small white plastic tool that resembles a pair of pliers. Bring it to an auto store to find a match, then buy a replacement and insert it in the proper position to replace the blown fuse. Look at the tail lamp wiring.

My 2007 Matrix tail light would not work. Fuse was okay and bulbs were new. The hardest part of the job was to find the fuse boxes and relay box (fuse box underneath hood, under driver side and relay behind glove box). I have a 1992 Nissan maxima my tail lights don’t work, I checked the fuses and the bulbs are good.
