Thanks guy for the advice! If you are running an open air filter you definetly need to get that air/fuel screw cap off and adjust it. You should porbably get a bigger pilot jet as well. I ran a 50 pilot on the stock carb with an open air filter and it ran great.

With that open filter and stock pilot jet you are more then likely running it too lean down low and lean makes alot of heat. The bigger pilot will help out in a couple different ways.

What’s the best way to fix Polaris terminals?

You can use a knife or hacksaw to carefully cut through it all the way around without damaging the terminals. Once the sheath is removed to expose the terminals drill a 1/16” hole in each terminal and tin them with solder.
