Unfortunately, the area outside the gated community is crime-riddled and extremely dangerous. The majority of the community residents conduct business (i.e., work, shopping) in areas away from our neighborhood due to the high rate of crime and violence in the surrounding area.

Other parts like Hyde Park, Morgan Park and the near South Side are lovely areas that absolutely are as safe as the North Side or downtown. Bridgeport is a quintessential Chicago neighborhood that was home to both Mayor Daleys.

Overall I love my community, it’s not perfect but it has so much potential. Fairly quite block and friendly neighbors. Be mindful of the surrounding areas but my family and I love it here. It is near bad areas, but the area itself is safe.
