Do 4 runners have V8?
Currently, Toyota only offers the 4Runner with a V6. But the 4th-gen 2003-2009 Toyota 4Runner also offered a V8. The 4th-gen Toyota 4Runner has had some notable issues, rusting frames being particularly egregious, but the later 2007-2009 models are just as off-road-capable as new 4Runners.
What’s the problem with my 1996 Toyota 4Runner?
The box frame is the issue for these vehicles. Normally the middle to rear areas of frame. Salt and road debris gets trapped in frame and stays in there to rot frame. Cleaning underneath and inside box frame regularly helps keep this to a minimum. I oil bath mine with new tractor 10w-30 gear/hydraulic fluid.
