How do you test stator output?
Insert each probe into a stator socket. You should read around 0.2 to 0.5 ohms. If you show an open circuit with the “Open” or infinity reading or have higher resistance, then the stator is bad and you must replace it. If these tests all produce positive results, then the stator itself is good.
How to test a Polaris Ranger stator battery?
If all else is good …PDM etc. and the machine starts…..you can hook a Multi Meter (DC Voltage Meter ) to the battery and rev the engine. If the DC voltage increases with the revs you are charging.
What’s the voltage on my Polaris 400 HO?
The voltage at the regulator was 12.6 – lower than 14. Is this due to the lower voltage at the stator or is the regulator bad? after running my 2014 400 ho with the lights on for about 20 min while travelinv the battery appears on the desplay and things start to dim. have 14.5 volts when doing the test cold to the battery.
How to test your Polaris ATV charging system?
This forum is 5 years old, but I just tested my 2017 Polaris 450 HO – the voltage at the yellow wires was 20-21 at idle cold – 19.5-20 at operating temp. Since these are lower than 22….does that mean the stator is bad?
What does multimeter on Polaris Ranger tell you?
Good rule of thumb with a multimeter on the battery, after starting you will get more voltage then when it wasnt running. Thatll show you if its charging, Im not familiar with what the rangers specs are though. Usually if voltage fluctuates with rpm thatll show a faulty regulator.
