Eject the key; pull of the silver bits from the opposite end to the key hole; with the jaguar symbol (not buttons) on top, separate the two pieces. From there it’s obvious – the only caveat being that you have to be careful putting the key release spring bit back. If you get stuck, repost.

Car went in for service at Jaguar dealer today. My battery in keyfob was running low last week, and the dealer advised use spare key and to wait till service to replace main keyfobs battery. It was replaced today, at a price of £31, after my jaw was recovered from the ground they reduced to £19 for a mere standard flat battery.

It was replaced today, at a price of £31, after my jaw was recovered from the ground they reduced to £19 for a mere standard flat battery. It turns out that Jaguar apparently advise them to replace the fascia of the key-fob at the same time and this took up the bulk of the charge.
