Can you change the display from kmh to mph?
I am about to take delivery of a 320 cdi but was surprised to see the digital display on the dash is in kmh which is no use at all in the UK .The dealer tells me it is not possible to change this over to MPH can anybody confirm this or if not tell me how to change it.
Can a speedometer be switched from kmh to mph?
Since you plan to be able to switch freely between mph and kph on the digital display, the digital speedometer, once modified, will on its own meet the other option permitted under the Regulations, ie to display mph and kph separately, by operation of switching.
Is the ML Speedo calibrated only in mph?
The ML speedo is calibrated ONLY in mph so kph MUST be shown somewhere (guess?) so as to comply with UK law. This is NOT the case in Europe where speedos only need show kph. On some cars this can be changed on STAR, but Mercedes stopped this from being possible on later cars. The kph/mph setting is not for the speed above the line, it is for the larger digital display. You can nog chanfe the smalk display without a STAR machine.

On my SLK I can switch between miles and km on the speedo via the steering wheel buttons. This also affects the digital speed readout. I can only do this because I collected my car from the factory and it is coded for export and not for UK.
