Are there any electrical problems with my Silverado?

How to fix a Chevy Silverado battery problem?

I’m unsure what kind of pics everybody wants to see. Basicly I took two 4 gauge cables and ran them seperate (one to the frame and the other to the alt) from the battery. Very simple.
Where does the battery cable go on a Silverado?
The cable from the battery ground is spliced and runs to both the alt and the frame. The frame cable is actually alot smaller than the ground running to the alt… So i ran 4 gauge to both places. Not reallly sure if it is a big problem but most of the trucks electrical devices is grounded to the frame.

In researching this I’ve found many, many, people with similar and even more bizarre electrical problems on GM vehicles. Of course, all brands of vehicles have problems, but there is definitely a pattern indicating some very poor quality control, if not design, at GM and especially AC Delco.

The truck intermittently loses all electrical power WHILE PARKED, even after being driven for many miles and then stopped for only a few minutes.
Why is my Chevy Silverado battery not working?
The small diameter vertical clamp bolt with the little ears designed to force the clamp around the post is made of cheap, soft metal and seems to lose proper contact with the battery post, even on a brand new battery, perhaps as a result of heat expansion / contraction and/or vibration.
What should I do if my Chevy Silverado starts acting up?
Contact GM if a relatively new Silverado starts acting up. It could be that there is a TSB (technical service bulletin) or recall that addresses the problem. If so, give your dealer the TSB number and expect to get your repair made for free. Since 2007, the newly designed Silverado shares the same platform with the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon.
