The Cherokee doesn’t have a body control module however the Grand Cherokee does. It is behind the kneeblocker trim panel under the steering column directly in front of the drivers left knee.

The company is not aware of any reported injuries related to wrinkled dashboards. As with all out-of-warranty customer claims, FCA reviews each case on an individual basis with the goal of satisfying our customer. So FCA won’t cover the problem because it’s out of warranty.
How do you remove kick panels from Jeep?
Remove the retainer screws for the kick panels and pull the kick panels straight out. Pry off the trim pieces going around the glove box using the flathead screwdriver to reveal the retainer bolts. Remove these bolts with the socket wrench. Locate the retainer bolts on the ends of the dash panel and remove them with the socket wrench.
