To remove the rear bumper just remove the 2 mounting bolts above the exhaust finishers and off she pops, (According to the manual.) Problem is one of mine is unscrewed a couple of turns and the captive nut started turning. I’ve been informed that the captive nut is a brass insert in the bumper. Anyone been here before?

Why is the bumper bracket on my Jaguar not working?
The bumper guides securing the bumper sides to the metal bracket welded onto the inner structure can also be problematic due to corrosion. The nut often has to be cut off as the captive nut in the plastic bracket will just rotate round. Check out the metal brackets for corrosion. We have had a bracket made to solve this problem.
Disconnect the electrics leading to the bumper and you will also see a couple of nuts on each side near the air vents that attach to the bumber side panels.
