Why do I need wood to Jack a Jaguar XF?
The wood isn’t to protect the pinch weld – just to help the round plate on the jack grip. And to get the load on the pinch weld section fully loaded on the jack. Annoyingly the jacking point is somewhat enclosed by other body work.

I’d describe is as a humming/buzzing noise and it seems to come from the rear of the car. The noise does not go away unless the speed drops below 50mph.
