Why is the parkbrake stuck on my 2005 Jaguar?
Mine is a 2005 S Type sports automatic. I’ve had the warning message, and the parkbrake stuck on, five times, due to a low battery in cold weather. The first time, a Jaguar agent reset it by fiddling about in the boot for less than a minute. The next four times, (including today) I fixed it myself as follows.
How do you know if a Jaguar has a brake bleed?
Run the engine a couple of minutes. Turn the engine off and press the pedal several times slowly. The first pump should be fairly low. The second and third should become slightly firmer. This indicates an airtight Servo. Start the engine and press the brake pedal, then stop the engine with the pedal still pressed.
How to reset e brake module on Jaguar S-type?
Your problem may be due to low battery voltage, faulty park brake motor, module or possibly broken or binding parking brake cables. What you can do is reset the system. DIsconnect the negative battery cable for 10 minutes. Then reconnect it and start the engine. It will say “Apply park brake” on the messgae center.
Why does my brake pedal feel hard when I start the engine?
If the pedal feels “hard” while the engine is running, the brake servo isn’t operating correctly. With the engine off, pump the brake pedal to remove any residual vacuum in the Servo. Hold pressure on the pedal while you start the engine.

What does it mean when your brake light comes on?
The “BRAKE” light has always meant one simple thing: There is a fault with the braking system. Most commonly, this light is triggered by low brake fluid or an engaged parking brake.
What to do if your brake pedal does not drop?
Start the engine and press the brake pedal, then stop the engine with the pedal still pressed. If the pedal does not drop after holding the pressure on the pedal for 30 seconds, the Servo is airtight. Disconnect the vacuum hose where it connects to the intake manifold. Do not disconnect the vacuum line from the Servo.
