Is the 2009 Jaguar XF smart key still working?

2009 jaguar XF Smart Key stopped working recently, so I ordered a new key and had a jaguar specialist attempt to program the key. Here’s what we found… My old key is still working, meaning that it is putting out a signal/frequency; although the car is not receiving the signals anymore, anf the 5 buttons on the fob does nothing when pressed.
