Can you sleep in your car at Falls Creek?
Vehicles staying overnight (or for a number of days) must be parked in specified overnight parking areas. Visitors must drive to the Accommodation Transfer Terminal and look for signage indicating “Overnight Parking Here”. Self-parking is not permitted.
Do you need chains to drive to Falls Creek?
YES YOU DO! Snow chains are a legal requirement for ALL vehicles entering Falls Creek alpine resort. All vehicles (including 2WD & 4WD) must carry a pair of snow chains even when the roads are clear during the declared snow season.

You do get snow at Mt Beauty but it has to be very cold and it has to snow to very low altitudes. You won’t need chains for Mt Beauty but you will need them if you progress on to Falls. It is more likely to rain in Mt Beauty than snow.
