What is ERAXIS used for?
It is used to treat fungal infections including candidemia (fungal infection in the blood), candida peritonitis and abscess (fungal infection in the stomach), esophageal candidiasis (fungal infection in the esophagus), and other fungal infections (including infections in the stomach).
How do you reconstitute ERAXIS?
Overall antifungal treatment should continue for at least 14 days after the last positive culture. ERAXIS for Injection must be reconstituted with sterile Water for Injection and subsequently diluted only with 5% Dextrose Injection, USP or 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection, USP (normal saline), prior to administration.
How do you administer ERAXIS?
The recommended dose is a single 100 mg loading dose of ERAXIS on Day 1, followed by a 50 mg once daily maintenance dose thereafter. Patients should be treated for a minimum of 14 days and for at least 7 days following resolution of symptoms. Duration of treatment should be based on the patient’s clinical response.
How to administer anidulafungin?
It is recommended that Anidulafungin 100mg Powder for Concentrate for Solution for Infusion be administered at a rate of infusion that does not exceed 1.1 mg/min (equivalent to 1.4 mL/min when reconstituted and diluted per instructions).
Is mycamine generic?
Micafungin for Injection is available in 50mg and 100mg strengths in 10mL single-dose vials. Fresenius Kabi announced the launch of Micafungin for Injection, a generic version of Mycamine (micafungin for injection; Astellas Pharma).
Can eraxis be refrigerated?
ERAXIS (unreconstituted) vials should be stored in a refrigerator at 2°C – 8°C (36°F – 46°F). Do not freeze. Excursions for 96 hours up to 25°C (77°F) are permitted, and the vial can be returned to storage at 2°C – 8°C (36°F – 46°F).
How do you give caspofungin?
Method of administration After reconstitution and dilution, the solution should be administered by slow intravenous infusion over approximately 1 hour. For reconstitution directions see section 6.6. Both 70 mg and 50 mg vials are available. Caspofungin should be given as a single daily infusion.
How long does anidulafungin take to work?
This medicine must be given slowly, and the infusion can take at least 45 minutes to 3 hours to complete.
What are anidulafungin indications?
Indicated for treatment of candidemia and intra-abdominal abscess and peritonitis caused by Candida infections.
What is the treatment for mucormycosis?
Mucormycosis is a serious infection and needs to be treated with prescription antifungal medicine, usually amphotericin B, posaconazole, or isavuconazole. These medicines are given through a vein (amphotericin B, posaconazole, isavuconazole) or by mouth (posaconazole, isavuconazole).
