How long before you see results from Juvederm?
As soon as it has been injected, the mere presence of Juverderm® beneath the skin is enough to smooth, plump, and volumize the face. Those immediate results are a nice form of instant gratification. But it usually takes another two weeks to see Juvederm results for the patient’s results to fully develop, or settle.
How long does a syringe of Juvederm last?
Juvederm Ultra XC and Ultra Plus XC both last between six and 12 months. It slowly metabolizes over time. So, patients often return in half that time for maintenance treatments. However, every patient is different and the location of the injection also affects the duration of action.
What to expect after Juvederm injections?
Swelling and bruising usually subside within 24-48 hours. However, hyaluronic acid fillers attract water. So you may have extra fullness in the areas injected, that should resolve within 10-14 days when the results soften, and further enhancements become visible.

Amazingly, the results of this treatment are nearly instantaneous. Patients can often immediately see a reduction in wrinkles. Around 48 hours before treatment, you should stop using topical anti-aging ointments, serums, and creams. This essentially boils down to products that contain glycolic acid, retinoids, retinol, and Retin-A. These can irritate skin and negatively impact your treatment outcomes.
