What is Elaxim?
Elaxim 40 Injection belongs to a group of medicines called thrombolytic agents. It is used in the emergency treatment of heart attack. It helps to dissolve blood clots that have formed in the blood vessels of the heart.
What is the use of tenecteplase?
Tenecteplase is a thrombolytic (THROM-bo-LIT-ik) drug, sometimes called a “clot-busting” drug. It helps your body produce a substance that dissolves unwanted blood clots. Tenecteplase is used to prevent death in people who have had a heart attack (acute myocardial infarction).
How do you reteplase an injection?
As soon as possible after the onset of STEMI, administer 10 units intravenously over 2 minutes. Administer a second dose of 10 units 30 minutes after the first dose.
How do you give actilyse?
Actilyse is supplied as a powder and sterilised water for injections. Before use, the water for injections is added to the powder to form a solution ready for administration. This solution is given into a vein through a drip line.
How do you give a STK injection?
Instill 250,000 IU Streptokinase in 2 mL of solution into each occluded limb of the cannula slowly. Clamp off cannula limb(s) for 2 hours. Observe the patient closely for possible adverse effects. After treatment, aspirate contents of infused cannula limb(s), flush with saline, reconnect cannula.
When do you give tenecteplase?
Treatment should be initiated as soon as possible after the onset of AMI symptoms. TNKase is the first thrombolytic that can be administered over five seconds in a single dose, offering physicians the fastest administration of a thrombolytic to date in the treatment of heart attack.
How is tenecteplase administered?
TNKase® (Tenecteplase) is for intravenous administration only. The recommended total dose should not exceed 50 mg and is based upon patient weight. A single bolus dose should be administered over 5 seconds based on patient weight.
