Replacing it may require removing the car door panel. You have a broken wire: If the lock isn’t getting power, hold the lock switch either up or down, and then open and close the door repeatedly to see if the lock will work. If it works sometimes, you probably have a broken wire.
Why is the gas door on my Passat not opening?
My 2014 Passat gas door will not open. I have locked and unlocked the doors. Sunroof and mirrors work. Is there anything else to do? 21 people found this helpful.
Why is my fuel cap not working on my Volkswagen Passat?
I had a similar problem on my ’01 Jetta GLX and it ended up being a blown fuse #14 (10 amp). #14 runs the trunk and fuel door release, sunroof, key fob, window & mirror switches. 32 people found this helpful. On my ’03 Passat Wagon, I did not see a manual release cable. I suppose the cable is more easily seen in the sedan.
Is there another fuse for the ignition switch on a VW Passat?
Fuse #14 on my 2008 VW Passat Wagon controls the ignition switch and #33 controls the sunroof. Is there another fuse that relates to the fuel filler lid? Tx 18 people found this helpful. Hi everybody, I have locked the car and unlock it again and the flap was opened.
Today’s trunk locking mechanisms are comprised of a keyed lock cylinder and a trunk lock actuator in cars that offer a power trunk release once activated. The trunk lock actuator then releases the trunk latch so the trunk can be opened. All of this is done without you having to insert a key into the lock cylinder.
Manual locking mechanism works fine If you try to unlock the trunk with the fob or switch in your car and it doesn’t work, but the manual lock works fine, this is a clear cut signal that your trunk lock actuator is broken.
