Who can service a gas fire?

Remember, only Gas Safe Registered engineers can carry out a gas fire service. They should be fully trained and certified before they can begin to inspect both the physical condition and performance of your gas fire. The inspection will include: Making sure your gas fire has been installed correctly.
Does British Gas HomeCare include parts?
When you take out either kind of insurance with British Gas, you’ll be able to call us if your covered appliance needs repairing. We’ll send one of our qualified engineers round to help get it running smoothly again – and we’ll cover the costs of parts and labour.
Does a gas fire need a service?
Your gas fire needs to be safety checked and serviced at least once a year for the safety and well-being of you, your family, and anyone else entering your home. The main concern is the danger of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Also, they will check to see if anything could be a fire risk.

How much does it cost to service a gas fire?
The cost of fully servicing a gas fire (which usually includes a safety check too) is about £85. These prices for a gas fire service are for one appliance.
