Since its founding in 1959, York has grown exponentially. From its humble beginnings, York’s two campuses have expanded to cover over 500 acres. These 500 acres include six libraries, two athletic facilities, cinemas, studios, an indoor golf driving range and hundreds of lecture halls and classrooms.

When did the University of York first open?
The University of York opened in 1963 with three buildings. Today, we look to expand our campus. Our campus is home to many landmarks including listed buildings, colleges and Central Hall. Our campus is home to sculptures and galleries, featuring art from local and international artists.
What does the University of York cleaning services do?
The Cleaning Services team has responsibility for all aspects of residential and non-residential cleaning across the University. University Receptionists deliver effective front desk customer services to staff, students and visitors, providing a reception, portering, mail and security service to users of the University’s premises.
