ICE has hundreds of detention centers all over the country. You are allowed to visit detention centers. Many areas have visitation programs so that you can volunteer to be a visitor and provide moral support for immigrants in detention.
Can you volunteer at the border?
We are however still actively recruiting volunteers to help asylum seekers remotely. Spanish-speaking individuals can volunteer remotely to support HIAS’ Border Response Team by providing translations of documents. No legal experience required. Find out more and sign up here.

Are there volunteer interpreters for the immigration justice campaign?
Volunteers are encouraged to secure their own interpreters. In some circumstances, the Justice Campaign may be able to arrange for a volunteer interpreter to work with you. Generally available through Immigration Justice Campaign’s referring local partner organizations, with some exceptions.
