Do you need e ticket for British Museum?
E-tickets are valid only for the date, entry time and/or event stated upon them. On arrival at the Museum (or at the entry to the exhibition or event for which you hold an e-ticket), the following will be required in order to validate an e-ticket booked through the British Museum website:
Can you bring a bicycle into the British Museum?
For security reasons, no large items of luggage can be brought into the Museum (bigger than 40cm x 40cm x 50cm and heavier than 8kg) or onto the premises. Wheeled cases are not permitted regardless of their size and weight. Folding bicycles are not permitted inside the Museum.
Is there a walk up to the British Museum?
Walk-up visits are available each day for those who arrive at the Museum without advance bookings. But this does depend on capacity, as walk-up entry cannot be guaranteed. Please speak to staff on your arrival to enquire about availability.
When does the British Museum close on Fridays?
Every day, except Fridays, the Main entrance closes at 16.00 as the Museum closes at 17.00. On Fridays, due to the late opening of exhibitions, the Main entrance closes at 19.30 as the Museum closes at 20.30. Please arrive at the time stated on your ticket – we cannot guarantee admission before or after your allotted time slot.
What are the different types of museum tickets?
This includes the following types of tickets (together ‘Tickets’): Entry Tickets: for general admission to the Museum’s permanent collection; Exhibition Tickets: for entry to temporary, special or paid-for exhibitions; and Event Tickets: for entry to events held on-site at the Museum.
Can you enter an exhibition without a ticket?
If an exhibition or event requires an Exhibition Ticket or Event Ticket, you will not be allowed to enter or attend that exhibition or event without such a Ticket. Your Ticket is valid only for the number of person (s), the date and/or the entry time slot stated on the Ticket’s face.
Can a donation to the British Museum be refunded?
As a charity, the British Museum cannot refund donations except in limited circumstances, such as if your donation has been made as a result of fraud or misuse or in the event of accidental duplicate transactions.
