What is Abret certification?
The American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists, Inc. (ABRET®) was founded in 1964. Certification focuses specifically on the individual and is an indication of current knowledge and skills in EEG technology.

How many questions are on the Abret exam?
I. The written EEG exam consists of a maximum of 250 multiple-choice, objective questions.
What is Cnim credential?
CNIM (Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring) is a designation conferred by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists, or ABRET, when one passes the certification examination.
How do I become a Cnim?
Seek employment as a noncertified intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) technologist. Complete at least 150 surgical monitoring cases to prepare for the certification examination in neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring from ABRET. Submit your application materials to ABRET for the CNIM exam.
When does the Abret credentialing center shut down?
You are required to login to access the Credentialing Center. The current ABRET Credential Manager system is set to shut down October 19, 2020. We currently expect the new system to go live on November 2, 2020. We will let you know if the date changes.

How to access the Credential Manager control panel?
Accessing Credential Manager Credential Manager lets you view and delete your saved credentials for signing in to websites, connected applications, and networks. To open Credential Manager, type credential manager in the search box on the taskbar and select Credential Manager Control panel.
