What is FLIXOTIDE Nebules used for?
Flixotide helps to prevent and treat asthma attacks in adults and children over 16 years of age who need regular treatment. This is why it is sometimes called a ‘preventer’. It needs to be used regularly, every day. Flixotide also helps treat asthma attacks in children 4 years of age and over.
Does flixotide have any side effects?
The most commonly reported side-effects are: a sore throat or tongue. This may be due to ‘thrush’ (candida infection) hoarseness or throat irritation.

How do you use a flixotide inhaler?
To take a dose you have to slide the lever on the inhaler. This opens a blister inside the inhaler, making a dose ready for you to inhale. You then breathe out fully, put the mouthpiece to your lips and breathe in steadily and deeply through your mouth. More detailed instructions are provided with the accuhaler.
What is budesonide nebulizer used for?
Budesonide is used to prevent difficulty breathing, chest tightness, wheezing, and coughing caused by asthma. Budesonide powder for oral inhalation (Pulmicort Flexhaler) is used in adults and children 6 years of age and older.
Is Ventolin a steroid?
No, Ventolin (albuterol) does not contain steroids. Ventolin, which contains the active ingredient albuterol, is a sympathomimetic (beta agonist) bronchodilator that relaxes the smooth muscle in the airways which allows air to flow in and out of the lungs more easily and therefore it is easier to breath.

They work within 15 to 20 minutes and last four to six hours. They are also the medicines to use 15 to 20 minutes before exercise to prevent exercise-induced asthma symptoms.

Your FLIXOTIDE puffer contains the type of asthma medicine known as a ‘preventer’. It does not give immediate relief from an asthma attack and may take up to a week to start to work. If your shortness of breath or wheeze does not get better after 7 days, tell your doctor.
