Why did Afiko betray the Air Nomads?
Afiko decided to betray the rest of the Air Nomads by telling the Fire Nation where the templates were located. Because his information was instrumental in the Fire Nation succeeding in there attack he got a place as Fire Lord Sozin’s close adviser.
Who is Afiko?
Afiko, known as the Betrayer, was an airbender from the Southern Air Temple who revealed the location of his home to the Fire Nation, after which the country’s army raided it during the Air Nomad Genocide.
Did the Air Nomads fight back?
Despite being a pacifistic culture, the Air Nomads fought back against their attackers with a fair amount of success, as evidenced by the dozens of firebender corpses surrounding the skeleton of Monk Gyatso. Ultimately, however, they were no match for the sheer numbers and firepower of their opponents.
