Allow two hours for an informative walk through the park. Exhibits are signed.
When did Wildlife Prairie Park open?
1978
The Park opened for 6 weeks in September 1977 in honor of Mrs. Hazel Rutherford’s birthday, and then officially opened its gates to the public in 1978. Today, Wildlife Prairie Park is proud to continue its mission of conservation, education, and recreation to its nearly 140,000 annual visitors.

Is Wildlife Prairie Park Pet Friendly?
For the safety and well being of our guests and animals, Wildlife Prairie Park does not allow dogs or other pets inside the East Side gates. This includes emotional support animals. Animals who are licensed to be service animals are allowed everywhere in the Park except for the animal trails.

Depending on the time of year, the hours may change. Summer Hours (Memorial Day to October 21st): 9 AM to 6 PM Daily. Winter Hours (November 1st to Memorial Day): 9 AM to 4:30 PM Daily. Park is closed on dates below. Christmas Eve; Christmas Day; New Years Eve; New Years Day
