What does the flashing light mean on a Honda Pilot?
Advised me to go to HONDA as they may be about to pull the code using the HONDA’s computer reader. The flashing light indicates a transmission problem. I think it has to go to the Honda dealer to read the code. I had the same thing happen. I decided to check my fluid level first, sure enough it didn’t even register on the stick.

However if its a Honda specific code, be ready for them to be unable to read. The switches seem to be a known issue and are very easily replaced.

My son is a mechanic and I told him that it shifted fine and he said that if the pressure is not right on the 4th gear band in the transmission, it could wears uneven or even out and that could mean alot more money fixing the transmission

If it stays on, it is letting you know that there is some problem with the Pilot’s VSA itself. When the light comes on, Honda suggests getting someplace safe and restarting the engine. If the VSA light doesn’t come back on, you are good to go. If it does come back on, it is time to diagnose the issue, or take it in to the shop.

Without reading codes you don’t know. If your lucky it’s just the 3rd gear solenoid. Or you are low on fluid. Since your bold enough to go to the dealership for service you should have them print out the code the transmission is providing and go from there.
