The water ran down the outside of the front footwell and entered the cabin through a perished rubber flap valve covering the A/C condensation drain. ( see photo’s ).
How to remove front passenger seat from Passat?
To remove the front passenger seat, first lever out the 10mm dia plastic discs covering the screws holding the cover strips at either side of the seat runners. Remove the 2 screws and lift off the covers. Remove the 2 nuts at the front of the seat and push the seat backwards off the runners.
