How do you replace an airbag control module?
If it is determined that the Airbag Control Module needs to be replaced, a technician will first disconnect the battery to disarm the Supplemental Restraint System. Once the location of the module is identified, the technician will remove any necessary components for access before removing and replacing the module.
What needs to be replaced when airbags deploy?
If your airbags have deployed during an accident, your airbags will need to be replaced, and your airbag control module will need to be replaced or reprogrammed. If the clockspring or any impact sensors were melted or damaged during the collision, they will also need to be replaced for the airbag module to reset and start working properly.
