Are there any electrical faults in my Volvo V40?
Having issues with electrics as well… it was rare,but now it’s every day, All faults appearing, like Pedestrian protection, DSTC, airbags, Coolant fault , Brakes Fault on dashboard . when you switching off a car, you usually cannot start it straight away. we need to disconnect battery and only then it might will start.
Can a Volvo cem have intermittent electrical problems?

This is my situation exactly, with a V40 T3 from jan 2013, all the errors show up in the dash (pedestrian collision airbag, srs airbag, engine cooling system, assisted direction, breaking system, together with all the available orange and red lights lit and the car simply wouldn´t start!!

Do you need to disconnect a Volvo V40 battery?
No need to disconnect if using a smart charger with limited current capacity. If using an old style bulk charger, then it would be prudent to do so. Connect the charger positive lead to the battery positive terminal, and the charger negative to any suitable earth point of the chassis.
