How do transmission cooler lines connect to radiator?
A rubber hose connects to the fitting and the other end of the hose connects to another similar fitting on the automobile radiator. Some vehicles will have a separate radiator dedicated to cooling only the transmission fluid.
What two lines connect transmission to the radiator?
The hoses traveling from the transmission to the radiator are called transmission cooler lines. They channel hot transmission fluid to the radiator, where it is cooled, then return it back to the transmission. They typically resemble brake lines and are made of metal.
How deep are transmission lines buried?
Typical structures are up to 120 feet tall, while the diameter of the foundations ranges from 5 to 8 feet. Burying a 230 kV double circuit transmission line at a minimum would require a continuous trench or duct bank at least 3.5 feet wide at the bottom and 7 feet deep.
Why are transmission lines not buried?
“Buried power lines are protected from the wind ice, and tree damage that are common causes of outages, and so suffer fewer weather or vegetation-related outages,” their report concluded. “But buried lines are more vulnerable to flooding and can still fail due to equipment issues or lightning.”
Does my truck need a transmission cooler?
While some vehicles can get by without adding an external transmission cooler, most will need it. Most vehicles utilize a transmission cooler inside the radiator, and more heavy duty vehicles will supplement with an external cooler in front of the radiator and air conditioning condenser.
Can a trans cooler be hooked to a radiator?
I’ve never done one of these the way its supposed to be done (I’ve hooked them only to the cooler itself and bypassed the radiator), so please tell me if I’m right or wrong here. This is on my truck, and it occasionally hauls a huge trailer, so I need to get this right.
What are the fittings for a transmission cooler?
These fittings are a push fit type that allow for a standard hose clamp to keep the transmission line in place. When it comes to installing an aftermarket trans cooler, barb fittings can be used on the radiator transmission fluid outlet for rubber hose to run to the cooler.
What are the fittings for a transmission line adapter?
Fittings, Transmission Line Adapters, Aluminum, Natural, -6 AN Male Threads, 1/4 in. NPS Male Threads, TH350, TH400, 700R4, 200-4R, 4L60E, 4L80E, Pair Transmission Cooler Adaptor -6AN Male to ¼-18 NPS
Where is the return line on a trans cooler?
So as I understand it, I should leave this line into the radiator and take the return line off the radiator, put a fitting in the old return line spot on the radiator, run this line to “in” on the cooler, then run the “out” line on the cooler to the original return line on the trans.
