I put it off and just last week brought it to Aamco who investigated through Volkswagon and found out that the 98 Cabrio was a test for this transmission module which memorizes the driver. He replaced it with a new module and also discovered because I drove it and shifted mannually that I need my transmission rebuilt, total cost $ 3,400.
