Why does my car start up weird?
It sounds like you may have a failing voltage regulator or failing alternator. As you may know, the alternator charges the battery while the engine runs by generating amperage and recharging the battery while the engine turns the alternator pulley.
Why does my car start up so fast?
Battery, starter, spark plugs, clean fuel injectors(look into sonic cleaning devices), spark plug wires or new coil packs/boots, a clean exhaust system… the list goes on. As for a faster and immediate start, starter fluid in the throttle body will ignite a lot faster than gasoline.
How many times has my car started by itself?
The car has started itself in VA. many times and then again 5 times while my son was visiting friends in Maryland so I don’t think it’s anything triggering the car to start remotely. Sometimes the car will start and stay running… other times it starts and then shuts iteslf off. It started/stopped itself 8x two days ago.
Why do I have to crank my car twice before it starts?
when you stop cranking momentarily, the fuel pump catches up, raising the pressure in the line. The next time you crank, fuel is available to start the engine. try switching the key to ON for a few seconds, then starting the car. If it starts right up, you can bet the problem is low fuel pressure.
Can a bad ignition switch cause an engine to not start?
The engine does not start. An engine that refuses to start can be another sign of a bad ignition switch. The ignition switch sends power to the the starter motor, engine controls, and ignition controls. These systems may not receive the power they need to start up if the ignition switch isn’t working properly.
What happens if your car starts all by itself?
Then when you want the car to start you’ll have an extra switch to turn on in order for the starter to crank. This doesn’t solve your problem and if the ignition is turned “on” by itself the car won’t run. The battery will run down, but at least you won’t be wasting gas. Cougar July 5, 2016, 9:51pm #9
