Why does my truck stall when it warms up?
Well, there is an ignition problem that can cause this when the engine gets hot and it stalls. It’s caused by a lack of spark which can be either the ECU’s fault (on EFI cars), or the coil on pretty much any car. Heat causes expansion. An engine needs more fuel when it’s cold than it does when it’s warm.

So this has now happened a few times (like 3), and only this winter on cold starts (around 0c/32f). So it’s not even that cold. Truck will start strong and quickly on the first try, idle fine for a few seconds, then bog down and die like it’s running out of fuel.

Thanks for all the great information… The engine runs fine when it’s cold. After about 10 minutes when the engine is warmed up and I come to a complete stop the idle tends to fluctuate. It will idle smooth for a few seconds then start to jump.
